If you have yet to catch wind of the social media phenomenon that is the PDX carpet, you are in luck. Pieces of the well-loved iconic carpet will soon be up for sale.
My PDX Carpet, a collaboration between Nagl Floor Covering and Yeobo Design, has won a bid to sell some of Portland International Airport‘s famous carpet to the public. One of the benefactors of those sales will be Portland Rescue Mission.
Between now and whenever My PDX Carpet runs out of carpet to sell, Portland Rescue Mission will be one of three organizations to share in five percent of all profits. The other two “uniquely Portland” organizations are Outside In and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
My PDX Carpet’s product line includes doormats, coasters and wall art. Preorders are currently being accepted. So if you, or someone you know, is looking for a piece of Portland history, now is your chance.
Don’t want carpet? You can support Portland Rescue Mission in other creative ways, including AmazonSmile and our Add A Meal program through New Seasons and Whole Foods. You can also donate to or purchase a car from Drive Away Hunger.
