At Shepherd’s Door women and women with their children find healing through addiction recovery, vocational training, spiritual encouragement, and transitional support in a safe, retreat like setting for one year.
If it weren’t for Portland Rescue Mission I would have given up. I would have been sitting alone in prison. Now I have hope and happiness again.

Our Family Life Center serves up to 25 children whose moms are staying at Shepherd’s Door. Our loving staff engages children in healthy play, active learning, and group activities. Parenting skills are modeled and taught so mothers can become the moms they desire to be.
These services are critical in helping families heal and can truly change the trajectory of a child’s life.
I was homeless and out of control. Now I’m a new woman inside and out with a home and a child who trusts me.

At our Community Houses, women and women with children who have completed our 1-year program have the opportunity to receive training and support in a community residence with other graduates to establish an independent living and sustain addiction recovery.
