Portland Rescue Mission Named a 2026 Top Workplace by The Oregonian

Some honors are about products or performance. This one is about people which is exactly why it means so much to us. 

PRM has been named a Top Workplaces 2026 honoree by The Oregonian, an award based entirely on confidential feedback from our own staff. The recognition comes from a third-party survey administered by Energage LLC, measuring what it actually feels like to work here, including whether employees feel respected and supported, enabled to grow, and empowered to do their jobs well. 

Why this award matters right now 

For PRM, this recognition lands at a moment when the work has never been more vital to our community.  

Over the last two years, PRM has seen a 24% increase in neighbors in great need accessing our services. At the same time, our region has lost more than 1,500 shelter beds. The gap between need and capacity is widening and closing it depends entirely on the people who show up to support our community every day.

We could only meet this growth because of dedicated staff and volunteers focused on the greater mission of serving those in need in our city. A mission carried by people 

Since 1949, Portland Rescue Mission has been a beacon of compassion, love, and God's grace to the community suffering from homelessness, addiction, and trauma. That mission is carried out today by more than 90 staff and 1,600 volunteers who are highly relational, Christ-centered, joyful servants who show up for Portland's most vulnerable neighbors, day after day.
