Burnside Shelter

Join Portland Rescue Mission: Seeking compassionate men, women for our night teams

Portland Oregon Photographer For Children, Families, Events, Real Estate

Night staff pray together at Burnside before welcoming guests in for the night.

Are you longing for something more when it comes to your vocation? Come join our team in the transformational work at Portland Rescue Mission. Men, women and children are daily discovering hope–that life is good and they can heal from the past and live free from addiction. If you have a compassionate and courageous heart, and a desire to see the broken restored, you might be a great fit for a job with us! Apply today!

We are constantly looking for amazing men and women to work as part-time night staff at Shepherd’s Door, in the Women’s Connect program and at the Burnside Shelter. In this role, you maintain a safe and relational environment. Your calming presence will help men, women, and children know they are safe and loved. You are vital to their recovery experience with us. (Read more about what our overnight staff say about their jobs).

“If you are someone who is serious about their faith, who is serious about going deeper in your relationship in Christ, and [discovering] what ministry is about, there is nothing more fulfilling. … I’ve never had a job that’s grown me as an individual this much.” -Former overnight staff

Check out our open night positions: Women’s Connect Night Associate, Women’s Resident Care Specialist, and Men’s Ministry – Night Ministry Team Member. We have several other openings at Portland Rescue Mission. (Find out MORE on our website).

We exist to share the Word of God and demonstrate the love of Christ to transform the lives of people experiencing homelessness or addiction. If giving hope and restoring life sound like a career for you, talk with us today.
