Since 1949, Portland Rescue Mission has been feeding and caring for hurting, hungry people. In recent decades, we’ve expanded our ministry to help men, women and children through addiction recovery, job training, education, emotional healing and spiritual renewal.
The recession continued to challenge us during the past year. While troubling, we rejoice at every new person we meet at Portland Rescue Mission. God has graced us with all we’ve needed to extend a hand of hope to every hurting soul that walked through our doors.
We see many new faces every day… not just numbers, but hurting people. To be a “mission of hope” to them is the essence of our ministry at Portland Rescue Mission… whether for immediate needs, or life-long recovery.
