You can name Portland Rescue Mission as a beneficiary in your will with either a designed dollar amount or a specified percentage of your estate. You can easily add Portland Rescue Mission to your will through an amendment, so your entire will does not have to be rewritten.
Charitable gift annuities enable you to make a gift to Portland Rescue Mission now and receive guaranteed income for yourself from those assets for life. You get an immediate income tax deduction and can also save on capital gains tax and estate tax.
A CRT will pay you either a fixed or variable dollar amount each year for the rest of your life or a term of 20 years, from assets you place in a trust. At the end of the term, the remaining balance goes to us.
A gift of life insurance can provide a significant charitable deduction. You can purchase a new policy or donate an existing one that you no longer need.
If you are 70 1/2 or older, you can transfer any amount up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA to Portland Rescue Mission or another qualified nonprofit organization. You don’t pay income taxes on the distribution, so you benefit even if you don’t itemize on your taxes.
