This week, a 5-year old girl and her mom stopped by Shepherd’s Door, our ministry center for women and children, with a special donation.
The little girl told her mother, “I don’t want any birthday presents this year, mommy.” Instead, she asked people to buy sets of children’s pajamas to donate to Portland Rescue Mission. Her friends and family generously provided 26 pairs of brand new pajamas in honor of her birthday!
A young child’s compassionate, selfless example shows us truth. Even if it seems small, we can all do something to help people in need.
