Not long ago, Amy was hopeless, trapped in a drug addiction and spiraling downward. She’d lost her job and her relationships were falling apart. When she woke up in a hospital bed after overdosing on heroin, she knew her life needed to change.
Amy found her way to Portland Rescue Mission’s addiction recovery program for women at Shepherd’s Door, and the rest is history. She uncovered the root causes behind her pain and underwent a total life transformation. Now, she has a unique and awesome opportunity to use her past experience to help others. Several days a week, Amy works downtown in our Connect program for homeless women, listening, empathizing, and ultimately helping them get their lives back on track.
