Allen’s family wanted nothing to do with him.
Allen’s Story of Hope on YouTube
Allen never knew his father. His mother left him when Allen turned 18. As an adult, Allen left his own wife and kids, lost in his addiction.
It’s a legacy of pain that’s all too common in the lives of men and women who come to Portland Rescue Mission for help.
Thanks to the support of friends like you, Allen is in touch with his mother after 23 years. She writes to him and talks to him on the phone every weekend to encourage his recovery. Allen’s daughters talk to him again and send him photos of his beautiful grandchildren.
