Thank you for committing to pray for our community on the national day of prayer! You can choose to pray on your own or join with your family, church, or small group to lift up our neighbors.
#1 For Hope
Pray for hurting people to experience God’s love and come to know Jesus during their time at PRM. May they find comfort in His grace and the hope of our Savior.
“For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Romans 10:13)
#2 For Protection
Pray for God’s protection over our community – and for His help as so many people rebuild their lives after the hurt and hardships they’ve faced.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
#3 For Guidance for PRM
Praise God for who He is and ask Him to be our guide on the National Day of Prayer as we minister to the needs of our neighbors.
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” (Psalm 32:8)
#4 For Hungry Neighbors
Pray for God’s provision of food & supplies to care for our neighbors experiencing homelessness, addiction, and trauma seeking help at PRM.
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" (Matthew 6:26)
#5 For Our City
Pray for the local leaders and advocates who guide and care for our community. Ask God’s blessing and wisdom for anyone helping uplift our neighbors in need.
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
#6 For Neighbors Experiencing Homelessness
More than 22,875 people are unhoused here in Oregon.* Ask God to provide safe shelter & resources so that no one has to suffer on the streets.
“It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.” (Isaiah 4:6)
#7 For the Helpers
Pray for all the organizations and ministries that are providing shelter, food, and assistance for struggling people here in the greater Portland area and across our nation.
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” (Acts 20:35)
#8 For Our Nation
The number of people seeking food support and other assistance at PRM continues to increase. Pray that the estimated 47 million Americans** who are food insecure will receive the nourishing meals they need.
“He gives food to every creature. His love endures forever.” (Psalm 136:25)
#9 For Community Transformation
Pray for meaningful paths forward that offer hope and help to neighbors regardless of differing values to “defend the rights of the poor and needy” and “speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” (Proverbs 31:8-9)
#10 Give Thanks
Praise God that He cares for those in need! As you join with thousands of other people during the National Day of Prayer, pray that lives will be transformed through Christ... both here in our community and across the nation.
“You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.”(Psalm 86:5)
